Chateau d'Orquevaux, April 2025

Chateau d’Orquevaux was one of the most amazing experiences I ever had. I had the privelage to experience this 2-week long residency in the countryside of France in this historic chateau with my husband. It was a whirlwind of art making, getting to know a wonderful cohort of artists from around the world (near and far), good food and wine, and experiencing one another’s talents. We met so many talented visual artists, musicians, poets, and authors.

Being there was like being on another plane of existence, where time moved slowly and rapidly at the same time.

Ziggy and Beulah created a rich program for resident artists to create and share their work through open studios, workshops, fun events, and shared mealtimes. You can see all of the hard work and deep love they put into the space and the program, and the dedication they have in the artists and our work. They truly want to see us take our practice to the next level and find our own vision of success, using their program as a stepping stone to find it.

I spent my time at the residency shooting a short film that will be part of a larger installation and body of work titled, She Is Not A House.
