Gateau
Christy E. O’Connor
Mixed media painting (watercolor, pen & ink, glitter, foam, spackle)
11 x 14 in., framed
2023
Gateau was started during my second artist residency at ESKFF in Jersey City, NJ. This painting depicts a delectable layer cake on a cake stand, engulfed in a frame in contrasting color hues, reminiscent of a 1990’s color palette designed for children’s snack packaging.
